De revelion, în centrul turistic Hurghada din Egipt a nins și a căzut grindină de mărimea unor alune. Potrivit turiștilor, fenomenul neobișnuit pentru această regiune a putut fi observat timp de circa 40 de minute. Din cauza vremii, autoritățile le-au cerut oamenilor să evite aflările în apropierea construcțiilor și a copacilor.
